On the first day of 2015, let’s take the time to sit down and review the fitness and nutrition goals and resolutions that we set for 2014 as per my previous post at the beginning of last year.

Did your fitness and nutrition progress in 2014? Were the goals and resolutions that you set realistic? How did you measure results? Did you keep on revisiting them to fine tune, check them off or change them?

How did you fare over family celebrations, eating out, crazy work schedules, family commitments and Christmas were you able to maintain a regular fitness regime and good nutrition at these times. The lessons learnt from what worked or did not and techniques you put in place, will guide you in creating goals and resolutions for 2015.

I’ve always been an advocate of the great health benefits of good nutrition and a balanced regular fitness programme. This was highlighted even further in my recent foray into GP referral, working with clients referred by their GP because of chronic conditions such as obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoarthritis etc One of the things that struck me is that the clients rarely presented with one condition, the minimum was 2 but several had many which was making their day to day activity and living conditions very challenging and painful. Through being educated on practical ways to have good nutrition and on exercises to allow for their conditions, those that adhered to and put in place the recommended changes were able to reap the benefits of managing their conditions better, reducing their medication and in some cases alleviating some of their health conditions.

Let’s make our 2015 a year of attaining and maintaining good health, through good nutrition and a balanced regular fitness regime. This will include benefits such as:

  • Reduced chances of developing chronic disease
  •

  • Weight management
  •

  • Better energy levels
  •

  • Good sleep
  •

  • Better muscle tone
  •

  • Increased fitness levels
  •

  • Stronger immune system
  •

  • Ability to maintain your day to day activity
  •
What one thing can you put in place in your nutrition and in your fitness to kickstart good nutrition and fitness for 2015? Thanks for commenting.
